mymediset alternatives compared on seven criteria: Movemedical, ConnectSx and Ventory versus the SAP-native add-on. ERP coverage, loaner kits, go-live.
Why people search for mymediset alternatives
Three situations drive the search. The first is SAP lock-in: mymediset is built natively on SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC, and a company that is leaving SAP, running SAP in only one region, or carrying a second ERP after an acquisition needs something that does not live inside one system. The second is the ERP-agnostic need from the start: distributors and mid-size manufacturers on Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, Exact or NetSuite cannot use an SAP add-on at all. The third is scope: consigned implants in hospital cabinets, loaner kits between cases and trunk stock in rep cars often sit outside the SAP process entirely, handled by people who will never log into SAP.
This guide compares four options: mymediset, Movemedical, ConnectSx and Ventory. Every claim comes from a page we opened, listed under Sources. Vendor marketing is quoted as what the vendor says, not as fact. Ventory is judged on the same terms, including where it is not the right pick.
What mymediset is
mymediset is an SAP add-on for the medical device industry. Its SAP partner listing describes it as "Built natively on SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC" under the Life Sciences (MedTech) industry, with loan set, field and consignment inventory management, a mobile app for sales reps covering bookings, inventory movements, surgery consumption and audits, RFID integrations, AI agents and a billing connection that captures consumption and triggers invoices. The listing states a minimum contract of one year and shows no price for our region.
The vendor is BIT Consulting. Capterra lists the company in Boston, US, founded in 1999, and quotes the product's own description: "purpose-built and fully native within SAP." The Capterra profile (titled mymediset Loaner Suite 7.0) shows a 4.8 out of 5 rating from 8 reviews at the time of writing, pricing marked as contact the vendor, and SAP S/4HANA Cloud as the one listed integration. A 2024 press release with RFID partner Terso Solutions describes mymediset as working "inside SAP" and specialising in "complex loan, consignment, and field inventory processes." We could not reach mymediset.com directly on the day of writing, so the facts above come from SAP, Capterra and Terso.
When mymediset fits, and when it does not
mymediset is the better fit when three things are true. Your ERP is SAP, in every region that holds field stock. Your supply chain team wants consignment, loaner and billing logic inside SAP documents, not in a connected layer. And the people who touch field stock are your own reps, equipped with the mymediset app. For a deep SAP-native shop, a tool that lives in the same system as the sales order and the invoice removes an integration. That is worth a lot.
It does not fit when the ERP is not SAP, when SAP covers only part of the estate, or when an ERP change is planned. It is a weaker fit when hospital staff, distributors or 3PL partners must record consumption: an SAP-native app assumes SAP-side users and licensing. There, an ERP-agnostic layer that posts movements back to whichever ERP sits behind it is the more practical route.
What to compare
Seven criteria separate the four vendors. Score each one against your own estate before you look at demos.
- ERP coverage beyond SAP. Which ERPs does the vendor integrate with today, named on its own site or marketplace listing? "Any ERP" without a name is not an answer.
- Consignment and loaner kit workflows. Ownership transfer at point of use, loaner booking and return, usage capture that feeds billing.
- Lot, serial and expiry per location. Not per warehouse: per hospital cabinet, per rep car, per kit. See product expiry management.
- Mobile offline scanning. Theatres and basements have no signal. Does the app work offline and reconcile on reconnect?
- Time to go live. Published in weeks or months, by the vendor, on its own site.
- Pricing model transparency. Public list prices, per seat or per plan, or a sales call first.
- Marketplace availability. SAP Store, Microsoft Marketplace or neither. A marketplace listing shortens procurement and shows what the vendor commits to in writing.
The MedTech Inventory Visibility Gap Report 2025, a Ventory survey, found that 68% of field teams rely on calls, texts or spreadsheets to confirm inventory. Whichever vendor you pick, the criterion that matters most is whether the people holding the stock will actually scan it.

At a glance
Only what each vendor states on its own site, marketplace listing or review profile. Where a vendor publishes nothing on a point, the cell says so.
| Tool | Best for | ERP coverage | Field coverage | Go-live claim |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| mymediset | MedTech companies that run everything inside SAP | SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC (built natively on SAP, per its SAP partner listing) | Loan sets, field and consignment stock, rep mobile app, RFID | None published on its SAP listing or Capterra profile |
| Movemedical | Large device makers running surgical case logistics | "Action-based integration into the ERP"; no ERP named on its site | Consignment tracking, loaner logistics, audits, bill-only automation | No general claim; cites one customer rollout across 9 EMEA countries in 90 days |
| ConnectSx (Beacon) | Emerging manufacturers and distributor networks | "ERPs, CRMs, and financial tools"; QuickBooks and Xero named on its pricing page | Hospital consignment, trunk stock, loaned devices, offline case capture | 2 to 6 weeks (site); 3 to 6 months for complex enterprise integrations |
| Ventory | Mixed ERP estates, consigned and loaner stock outside SAP | SAP S/4HANA and SAP ERP (SAP Store), plus Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, Exact, NetSuite | Consigned implants, loaner kits, trunk stock; lot, serial and expiry per location; offline scanning | Live in 4-8 weeks |

mymediset alternatives, one by one
Movemedical
Movemedical describes itself as "MedTech's #1 Field Inventory Automation Platform," a cloud-based SaaS platform for medical device companies. Its site lists modules for orders and transfers (including consignment tracking), case management, audit and expiry, asset management and pricing (bill-only automation, loaner logistics). It states that over 14 million surgeries have been supported and cites an 82% cut in expired field inventory at one manufacturer, all vendor-reported. On ERP coverage, its product page says "Action-based integration into the ERP" but names no ERP; the integrations shown are tools such as AWS, Okta, Snowflake and Tableau. No offline capability, pricing or general go-live timeline is published. Software Advice shows zero user reviews. Best for: large US device makers whose core problem is the surgical case cycle across a big salesforce. Less suited to: companies that need a named SAP, Dynamics or Oracle connector in writing, or a light layer rather than an enterprise rollout.
ConnectSx (Beacon)
ConnectSx, based in Mokena, Illinois, sells Beacon: "One platform for every step between the warehouse and the OR." The site lists hospital consignment and trunk stock visibility, FEFO expiry alerts, loaned-device tracking with due-back reminders, iOS and Android apps, and offline case handling with automatic reconciliation. It claims 120+ integrations and connections to "ERPs, CRMs, and financial tools" without naming an ERP; its pricing page names QuickBooks and Xero. Pricing is public: per-seat plans from 75 to 250 dollars per month by role, bundles from 459 dollars per month for three users, a 14-day free trial, a one-year minimum. Most teams go live in 2 to 6 weeks, it states, with 3 to 6 months for complex enterprise integrations. Badges read HIPAA compliant and SOC 2 aligned. Best for: emerging manufacturers and distributor networks that want transparent pricing and a fast start. Less suited to: enterprises that need a named SAP or Oracle connector, or estates where QuickBooks is not the finance system.
Ventory
Ventory is the field inventory layer between the ERP and the people holding stock outside the warehouse: consigned implants in hospital cabinets, loaner kits, trunk stock, forward stocking locations. It is ERP-agnostic: SAP S/4HANA and SAP ERP integration is listed on the SAP Store, with connectors for Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, Exact and NetSuite. The SAP Store listing describes offline operation with automatic sync, barcode scanning and cycle counts, expiry management and replenishment, references ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II, and publishes list prices for three editions from 9,000 euros per year. The same plans are on the Microsoft Marketplace under Ventory BV. Deployments go live in 4-8 weeks. Public results: 99.76% rolling stock accuracy, +30% productivity, +35% excess stock reduction, +70% reduction in stockouts. Honest limits: Ventory is not SAP-native, so a company that wants loaner and billing logic inside SAP documents should look at mymediset first. It does not schedule surgical cases the way Movemedical does, and it publishes no bill-only automation module. Best for: mixed ERP estates, stock handled by people who will never log into the ERP, and lot, serial and expiry control per location. See the medical device inventory page and the consigned stocks use case.
How to run the comparison
Do not start with demos. Start with your estate. List every ERP that holds field stock, every location type (hospital cabinet, rep car, loaner depot, distributor warehouse) and who touches stock at each. Then score the four vendors on the seven criteria with the Vendor Evaluation Checklist. Unsure whether a field inventory layer is the right category at all? Run the Ventory Fit Check first; it takes three minutes and says no when the fit is poor. For the wider market, including VMI tools, read best consignment inventory software; for the loaner cycle, loaner kit management for MedTech.
Then test live. Ten to twenty locations, the ERP connection on, a nurse or distributor using the app for a week. Adoption at the last metre decides the outcome, not the feature list.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a mymediset alternative that is not SAP-native?
Yes. Movemedical, ConnectSx and Ventory all run outside SAP. Ventory lists SAP S/4HANA and SAP ERP integration on the SAP Store and also connects to Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, Exact and NetSuite, which makes it the usual pick for mixed estates. Movemedical and ConnectSx state ERP integration without naming an ERP.
What does mymediset do?
According to its SAP partner listing, mymediset manages loan sets, field and consignment inventory for medical device companies natively inside SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC, with a rep mobile app, RFID integrations and a billing connection that triggers invoices from captured consumption.
Which option has public pricing?
ConnectSx publishes per-seat and bundled prices on its site. Ventory publishes list prices for its Explorer, Core and Enterprise editions on the SAP Store and the Microsoft Marketplace. mymediset and Movemedical ask you to contact them; Capterra marks mymediset pricing as contact the vendor, and Software Advice marks Movemedical the same way.
How long does it take to go live?
ConnectSx states 2 to 6 weeks for most teams and 3 to 6 months for complex enterprise integrations. Ventory deployments, including the ERP connection, go live in 4-8 weeks. mymediset and Movemedical publish no general timeline; Movemedical cites one customer rollout across nine EMEA countries in 90 days.
Can a non-SAP tool still post consignment movements back to SAP?
Yes, if the vendor lists an SAP connector. Ventory integrates with SAP S/4HANA and SAP ERP, so usage scanned at a hospital or in a rep car posts back to SAP without the field user logging into SAP. The difference from mymediset is where the logic lives: inside SAP documents, or in a connected layer that also serves non-SAP ERPs.
